Release Train Engineer (RTE) is part of the trio of leaders that includes product managers and system architects. This plays a critical role in leading Agile Release Trains (ARTs) to deliver value. This means that the RTE must create the right environment, have the right conversations, facilitate the right meetings, and gather the right people to make decisions based on the right data.
SAFe® SPCT
Kurt Jäger has been working as a software engineer in various software product houses for 40 years. More than 10 years as developer, architect, project manager, team leader and product manager at Software AG. Then another decade as development manager at TONBELLER AG, in this role he was also responsible for the product management team. From 2008-2010 he introduced agile methods based on SCRUM. As business unit manager and agile coach he helped customers of andrena objects AG to become agile. Since October 2013 he has been an agile management consultant and partner of KEGON AG. He is a certified Scrum Master, since 2018 certified SAFe® Release Train Engineer (RTE) and since October 2020 SAFe® Program Consultant Trainer (SPCT).
SAFe® SPC
Konrad Swistelnicki is Master of science and engineer in Information Technologies who gained his professional experience in Poland, Germany and the USA. His career started with position of software developer and then in Tieto company he discovered advantages of Agile Methodologies what resulted in certifications in Professional Scrum Master and Scaled Agile Framework Consultant. Currently working as Agile Coach and Agile Project Manager in Germany, he supports teams and organizations in transformation to Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe). Fascination and experience in Agile Methods (Scrum, Kanban Method, SAFe) allows him to work as successful leader delivering great quality software.
The following prerequisites are highly recommended:
Have participated in at least one ART and one PI
Hold at least one current SAFe certification
Consultant (PSC) you can continue the learning journey by achieving validation to license and teach SAFe courses.

During this three-day course, attendees will gain an in-depth understanding of the role and responsibilities of an RTE in the SAFe® enterprise. Through experiential learning, attendees will examine the RTE role in a Lean-Agile transformation. They will learn how to facilitate ART processes and execution, coach leaders, teams, and Scrum Masters in new processes and mindsets. They will also learn how to prepare, plan and execute a Program Increment (PI) planning event, the primarily enabler of alignment throughout all levels of a SAFe® organization.
